
The West Australian Pistol Association (WAPA) is the leading target pistol shooting club in Perth, Western Australia. Established in 1959, WAPA has a long-standing history of promoting and developing the sport of target pistol shooting in the region.
WAPA is affiliated with Pistol Australia (PA), the national governing body for target pistol shooting in Australia. This affiliation allows WAPA members to participate in a wide range of events and competitions, including Club Championships, State Championships, National Championships, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and Olympic Games.
As a member of WAPA, individuals have access to 16 different events that cater to various skill levels. The association also offers categories for athletes with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity within the sport. Additionally, WAPA provides coaching and officiating training at no cost to its members, allowing them to continually improve their shooting skills.
WAPA is governed by an elected volunteer committee that oversees the day-to-day operations of the club. With over 30 affiliated clubs throughout the state, WAPA provides leadership and support to its member clubs, ensuring the continued growth and development of target pistol shooting in Western Australia.
