Welcome to Academie De Danse, an esteemed dance school located in Hook, New Zealand. Owned and operated by Natasha Singelee DDE, a highly experienced dance teacher, our school has been providing quality dance education for over 20 years. We offer a range of classes for students of all ages, from 3-year-olds to adults.

At Academie De Danse, we believe in fostering a love for dance while also teaching essential skills such as spacial awareness, musicality, stamina, flexibility, and choreographic skills. Our classes encourage students to use their imagination to the fullest extent, building their dance vocabulary and understanding of the history and development of the steps taught.

We offer a variety of dance styles, including Cecchetti ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatic Arts, and Progressing Ballet Technique. Students have the opportunity to enter grade examinations and perform in our school's performances if they wish. Our classes are held in Eversley and Arborfield, providing convenient locations for our students.

All our staff members are DBS checked and fully insured, ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. We have comprehensive Child Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies in place, which are available upon request.

Natasha Singelee, the studio owner and main dance teacher, brings her expertise and passion for dance to every class. With training from the renowned West Street School in Covent Garden and the Arts Educational school in Chiswick, Natasha danced professionally for many years before dedicating herself to teaching. In 2009, she was honoured with the Peter Pearson scholarship, awarded to teachers practising the Cecchetti Genre.

The Cecchetti technique, which forms the foundation of our ballet classes, has a rich history. Enrico Cecchetti, a brilliant virtuoso dancer born in Italy in 1850, went on to become the leading teacher of his generation. He worked with famous dancers such as Pavlova and Nijinsky and played a significant role in the development of British Ballet. The Cecchetti Method was recorded and published by Cyril Beaumont, and it is now taught worldwide.
