Our Junior Captain, Eryn, was particularly thrilled to have the chance to meet her hero, Tommy Fleetwood.
The celebrations surrounding our centenary even caught the attention of the wider community. A four-stanza poem, penned in honour of Astbury Golf Club, was featured on Granada ITV News, demonstrating the impact our club has had on the local area.
Our opening ceremony was another highlight of the centenary celebrations. Lady Captain Linda Stevens and Captain Dr. Mike Sumner proudly unveiled the Centennial Planter in the presence of Congleton Mayor Councillor Dennis Murphy. Despite the forecast for rain, the weather remained kind, allowing everyone to enjoy the formalities followed by a delightful buffet in our clubhouse.
