The club trains in HEMA, Historical European Martial Arts, studying and learning from historical training manuals from the 12th to 19th centuries.
Training includes swords, spears, polearms, daggers, grappling and pugilism, sabre and rapier, and more.
Yes. You must be over 18 to join the club.
Training is held at Takapuna Normal Intermediate School, 54 Taharoto Road, Takapuna. Sessions are Tuesdays 7pm to 9:30pm and Sundays 10am to 12:30pm.
Yes. The club teaches classes in periodic blocks, including a beginner class, and then members can train in almost any historical style after graduating from beginner.
Once you graduate from the beginner class and join the club, you can train in almost any historical style you want.
