About

Lac Champlain. Venez nous rendre visite et profiter d'une belle journe sur l'eau!

The Baie d'Urfe Yacht Club, also known as Club de Voile Baie d'Urfe, is renowned as the best small yacht club on the Lakeshore. This easily accessible location offers ample parking, a waterfront clubhouse, and affordable moorage for up to 70 sailboats. Facilities include a launching ramp, dry sail area for sailing dinghies, and winter storage options.

Founded in 1959 by Frank Booth and Miles Wisenthal, the club was established to develop a harbour for small sailing boats in the Berthold Park area. The club's aim was to encourage sailing races among the community residents. Over the years, the club has grown in membership and activities, with a Junior Squadron established in 1962.

The club's present harbour was built for “Expo” in 1967, with matching-up work done by the Federal Department of Public Works. The club received a thirty-year lease from the town in 1968, allowing for the construction of a clubhouse. The Junior Squadron has trained numerous local sailors over the years, some of whom have become competitive sailors.

The Baie-D'Urfe Yacht Club is the host of the oldest continuously-run regatta in Canada, the “Ishkoodah” Baie-D'Urfe-Beaurepaire Regatta, first raced in 1897. With room for over 70 boats in the water, families can enjoy on-the-water and off-the-water activities from May to October. The club also hosts social events and races throughout the season.

Located at the heart of the West Island, less than 30 minutes from downtown Montreal, the club is easily accessible via Highway 20, Highway 40, or Lakeshore Drive. Situated close to the historic village of Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue, the Baie-D'Urfe Yacht Club is your gateway to Lake Saint-Louis, Lake of Two Mountains, the Outaouais River, and Lake Champlain. Come visit us and enjoy a beautiful day on the water at Baie d'Urfe Yacht Club.
