Just Imagine Dance, the local Contemporary Dance club in Richmond, is excited to announce Ballet for all, a series of inclusive ballet classes designed specifically for children of different age groups. These classes are aligned with the National Curriculum key stages and focus on nurturing creativity and expression in young dancers.
The Twinkle level is specially developed for children in line with the National Curriculum early years foundation stage (EYFS). This level takes into consideration their physical, emotional, and social development. In these classes, children will have a magical multisensory learning experience using props, puppets, pictures, and dress-up. There are four levels of Twinkle classes, carefully tailored for children born between specific dates. The classes take place on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and last either 30 or 40 minutes. The cost is determined per 12-week term.
For those who are ready to take their ballet skills to the next level, we have the Sparkle classes. These classes are non-assessment and incorporate RAD terminology and learning outcomes. They offer a fun and imaginative approach to ballet, creating a supportive and relaxed atmosphere for students. Sparkle pupils also get the chance to perform in biennial shows at Richmond theatre and work towards earning the coveted 'lavender awards'. These awards involve learning about various classical ballets and creating their own interpretations of famous repertoire. There are six levels of Sparkle classes, each designed for children born between specific dates. The classes take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays and last 1 hour. The cost is determined per 12-week term.
Our Dazzle level is a recreational class that acts as a natural progression from Sparkle for those who simply love to dance but don't see ballet as a future vocation. In Dazzle, dancers aged 11-16 get to work collaboratively and creatively with others. They also have exciting opportunities to showcase their work in various shows. Students in Dazzle can still develop key skills like pointework, and they may even explore other dance styles. Currently, there are two levels of Dazzle classes available, each designed for specific age groups. The classes last either 1 hour or 1.5 hours, and the cost is determined per 12-week term.
