BeFit - Functional Fitness

BeFit - Functional Fitness is a gym located in Waiheke Island, New Zealand, with a focus on functional fitness. The gym is owned by Remy and Pounamu, who are both fitness and health enthusiasts. Their mission is to create a community of like-minded individuals who are dedicated to training and adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Whether you are a beginner looking to step foot in the gym for the first time or an Olympic weightlifter, BeFit provides a supportive environment for all fitness levels. The gym was designed with a focus on functional fitness, meaning they do not have countless bulky machines that only target isolated muscles. Instead, they believe in training in a way that supports movements used in everyday tasks and activities.

The goal at BeFit is to promote movement and mobility, utilising your full range of motion. If you are new to functional fitness, they offer personal training and classes where you can learn how to train functionally and optimally in order to achieve your health and fitness goals.

Remy, one of the owners of BeFit, has been passionate about health and fitness for as long as he can remember. He has played many sports growing up and currently plays competitive ice hockey for the Botany Swarm in the NZ Ice Hockey League. As a certified personal trainer, Remy looks to share his knowledge and motivate others to achieve their health and fitness goals. His main motivation is to lead a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

Pounamu, the other owner, has a holistic approach to health and is passionate about nurturing the body and mind with nutritious food. She became a qualified personal trainer in 2012 and has since completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Otago. Currently, Pounamu enjoys running and participating in group exercise.

At BeFit - Functional Fitness, they offer a variety of services including group classes, personal training, and 24-hour access for members. The gym is located at 23d Belgium Street, Ostend, Waiheke Island. Visitors can expect a friendly and supportive atmosphere upon entering the gym, fostering a sense of community among its members.
