Located at Princess Walling Reserve in Balga, Bina Parkland Beginners BMX Track offers a thrilling and accessible recreational option for riders of all skill levels. The parkland features a variety of facilities, including a skate plaza, a junior and advanced BMX track, multi-courts, a parkour area, a regional playground, public art installations, designated car parking areas, barbecue spots, public toilets, and drink fountains.
The Carine skate and BMX facility, situated at Carine Regional Open Space with convenient access from Beach Road car park, is an existing concrete facility that has recently undergone additions and improvements. These enhancements include seating areas, entry pathways, shelters, signage, and drink fountains.
Located at the northern corner of Dianella Regional Open Space, at the corner of Alexander Drive and Light Street, the Dianella BMX and MTB facility offers various stages of development. The first two stages comprise a pump track and an adjoining mountain bike skills trail, while the upcoming stage three will feature two jump lines that connect to the skills trail.
Address: Dianella Regional Open Space. Carpark access from the roundabout intersecting Light Street and Edison Way, then follow the pathway northwest to the BMX facility.
Perfect for children and beginners, the Newborough Rainer Skills Trail at Newborough Rainer Reserve provides an excellent introduction to off-road riding. This short track has an easy (green) difficulty rating and includes several technical trail features, such as small jumps, a rock garden, and a skinny log ride. Each feature offers an alternative line with no obstacles.
As part of the community playground at Robinson Reserve, an incidental facility for skateboarding and scooter use has been incorporated. Surrounding the facility, visitors can find picnic tables, shelters, and an accessible drinking fountain. The playground and incidental facility are situated in the southwest corner of the reserve, with the closest access from Royal Street or Waterloo Street.
Known as the Snake Pit, the Scarborough Skate and BMX Facility pays tribute to its historical significance as the hub for 'bodgies' and 'widgies' in the 1950s and 1960s. The facility boasts a skate/BMX street plaza, a skate bowl, a bouldering wall, and a 3-on-3 basketball court. The Snake Pit is home to cutting-edge features, including the deepest skate bowl in metropolitan Perth and the first bouldering wall of its kind west of Melbourne.
Please note that while the Snake Pit is an exciting new addition, some facilities are not entirely new concepts but still offer state-of-the-art features, unrivalled in scale in Perth.
