She played rugby for Cornwall and the South West of England in her youth and has also served as a Run Leader for multiple clubs. Carla firmly believes that individuals don't have to choose between being a “runner,” a “triathlete,” or a “weight-lifter" – they can excel in multiple areas. She herself is a strong weight-lifter, a sub 20-minute 5 km runner, and has completed a 50 km ultra marathon and a triathlon.
