Chadderton FC has a rich history and strong ties to the local community. The club has played a pivotal role in the development of football in the area since its establishment in 1946. Originally known as Burnley Lane Estate Juniors, the club went through several name changes before settling on the name Chadderton FC in 1957.
The club initially competed in the Oldham Amateur League, winning the Challenge Cup in the 1954/55 season. They then joined the Manchester Amateur League and achieved immediate success by clinching the league championship in their first season. In 1963/64, Chadderton FC earned promotion to the Manchester League after winning the Second Division title. They continued to excel, winning the Murray Shield in their first season in Division One and securing the league title in 1966/67.
In 1970, the club also won the Manchester League Gilgryst Cup.
In 1980, Chadderton FC made the jump to the Lancashire Combination league and finished as runners-up in their first season. The following year, they became one of the founding members of the North West Counties Football League, which was created through the merger of the Lancashire Combination and Cheshire County League. The club achieved promotion to the top Division of the North West Counties Football League in the 1984/85 season.
