About
Join the CMC? Yes, we welcome climbers of all ages. However, climbers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Please contact us for more information on joining as a youth member.
What kind of climbing does the CMC do? The CMC is primarily focused on rock climbing, but we also participate in mountaineering activities such as mountain walking and trekking. We are a diverse group with members who have interests and experience in various types of climbing, from sports routes to multi-pitch mountain routes. We regularly organise trips to different climbing destinations, both within the UK and abroad.
How often do you meet? The CMC meets twice a week at The Lock Climbing Wall in Harlow and Rock Hub Basildon. These meets provide an opportunity for members to climb indoors, socialise, and meet fellow climbers. We also organise outdoor meets to various climbing locations, which are typically held on weekends.
Check our club calendar for upcoming meet dates and locations. How can I join the CMC? If you're interested in joining the CMC, we encourage you to attend one of our regular climbing wall meets. This will give you an opportunity to meet our members, learn more about the club, and see if it's the right fit for you.
You can also contact us beforehand for more information or to express your interest in joining. To become a member, you will need to complete our membership form and pay the annual membership fee. More information for new members can be found on our New Members page.
