Kelly Bunyan, the organiser of Corporate Self Defence London, wants to share a few words with the sports community about the self-defence classes on offer.
Kelly and her team cover situational awareness, teaching strategies for staying safe, assessing potential threats, and avoiding danger. They provide personal protection techniques to defend against physical attacks, drawing from the extensive martial arts backgrounds of Kelly and Dee Terret, both experienced female instructors.
The classes also cover the legal aspects of self-defence, ensuring participants understand their rights and responsibilities and the implications of using force. They discuss laws on offensive weapons and pre-emptive strikes to help navigate potential legal issues.
Street awareness is a key focus, teaching participants to be alert and recognise threats early. Physical techniques are a crucial part of the training, with the aim to utilise leverage and technique over brute strength, making the techniques accessible to all, regardless of size or gender.
Kelly believes group classes are highly valuable, offering a cost-effective alternative to one-on-one training. The group environment simulates realistic scenarios with attackers of varying sizes and strengths, preparing participants for real-life encounters.
