Crewe Judo Club is a BJC affiliated judo school located in Crewe, Cheshire. The club was founded in 1981 by Sensei Alf Coyles and has been affiliated with the Budo Association of Great Britain since then. In 1992, Chris Sharpe became the Head coach and has led the club to many successes over the years. The Head Coach position is now filled by Tess Jones 4th Dan, with Assistant Coaches Stuart and Neil also being part of the coaching team.
The club offers a range of affordable classes for all age groups starting from the age of 5 and for all abilities. The club is friendly and professional, with all coaches holding FPJ or UKCC coaching qualifications, first aid certificates, and child protection/safeguarding qualifications. New members are always welcome, and visitors from other clubs are also invited to join in. Whether it's for recreation, competition, making friends, or getting fit, the club invites everyone to come along to one of their training sessions and enjoy a FREE introductory session to see if they like it.
Crewe Judo Club is a member club of the British Judo Council (BJC) and can be contacted via email at crewejudo@outlook. Com or through phone/text at 07456 073638. The club provides judo training for both adults and children. Junior judo classes run every Wednesday from 7pm until 8pm.
These classes focus on children aged 5 years and above, offering benefits such as fitness, flexibility, coordination, self-confidence, and discipline. The club also competes at competitions throughout the UK, providing plenty of opportunities for children to participate in.
Senior judo classes are held every Monday from 7pm until 8:15pm and every Wednesday from 8pm until 9pm. These classes are for anyone aged 14 and older, welcoming individuals of all levels. Beginners are always welcome, and a FREE first session is offered to newcomers. There is also a beginners course available for those new to the sport to learn the basics of judo before joining the regular classes.
Visitors from other judo clubs are also encouraged to attend the senior sessions.
The coaching team at Crewe Judo Club is well-trained and experienced. The coaches hold FPJ or UKCC coaching qualifications, first aid certificates, and child protection/safeguarding qualifications. They are dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all students.
Crewe Judo Club can be found at The Georges Community Centre, King George Fields, West St, Crewe, CW2 8SJ. There is a large free car park available outside, which is shared with Simply Gym. The club operates in the community centre to the left of Simply Gym.
