Come and be a part of the Crowthorne Archers Frostbite League, a fantastic, and sociable archery competition that takes place throughout winter. This event, which runs from November to March, is open to all members of the club. It's not compulsory to participate, but we encourage every member to join in on the fun!
The great thing about the Frostbite League is that it offers flexibility to shooters. You can choose to participate whenever it suits you, as long as you can achieve a minimum of one score per month for at least four months. Submitting your score is easy – simply email or hand it in to our Records Officer.
The rounds for the Frostbite League are shot outdoors on Sundays, except Bank Holidays. During each round, shooters will take aim with 6 sighters and then shoot 3 dozen arrows. The distance is set at 30m, and the target face measures 80 cm in diameter. Scoring will follow a metric system with a 10-zone setup. We welcome all bow styles to this league – everyone is invited to participate!
At the conclusion of the league, we will hold an awards ceremony. The winner will take home a well-deserved trophy, while second and third place will receive medals. Winners will be determined by their best score for each month and the average of their best monthly scores. To qualify for the awards, shooters must participate for a minimum of four months. It's important to note that if you start shooting on the Frostbite Target but fail to submit a score, a score of 0 will be recorded for that particular month. We believe in fair competition, so the rules are subject to modification if necessary.
