Downclose Stables takes pride in its rich history. Originally known as Downclose Stud, the establishment was constructed in 1972 by Mr. Andrew Henry Warren. It was initially intended as a location for his racehorse breeding passion.

Over the years, the Stud enjoyed immense success under the management of Michael and Anna Falkiner. After Mr. Warren's passing in 1982, Miss Sheila Nancy Ralphs took charge and carried out the wishes outlined in his will. The A H Warren Trust Group was formed to continue the equine legacy at Downclose Stables.

To honour Mr. Warren's memory and Miss Ralphs' dedication, the A H Warren Trust decided to reinvigorate the site and establish Downclose Stables. The managing directors, Matthew Tufton and Guy Coleman, are committed to maintaining the equine link and providing top-class facilities and services for all horse enthusiasts. The website serves as a platform for clients to explore the facilities and services offered and find what they are looking for.

Downclose Stables prides itself on its state-of-the-art facilities. Some key features include electronic gated entry, spacious and airy American barn stabling, additional internal and external loose boxes, individual CCTV in all stables, automatic water drinkers, and rubber matting. The stables are equipped with Monarch Horse Walker, an Olympic-sized outdoor arena with a waxed sand and fibre surface, and a fully lit indoor arena with a waxed sand and fibre surface. Both arenas have indoor viewing galleries, allowing spectators to enjoy the action comfortably.

To top it off, there are 70 acres of private, well-maintained post and rail paddocks and surfaced walkways for safe and easy access.
