Duck & Dive Scuba Diving Centre, located in Shipley, is a destination for scuba diving training and swimming lessons in the beautiful surroundings of New Zealand. With over 25 years of experience, Duck & Dive has established itself as a trusted institution in the scuba diving community.

Founded by Garry, a highly skilled instructor who gained his expertise teaching scuba diving in Cyprus, Duck & Dive was originally established in Garry's grandmother's cellar in Eccleshill, Bradford. However, due to its rapid growth, the centre soon outgrew this space and relocated to a static caravan at Moor Valley Park in Hawksworth, near Baildon. This became the base for academic training for a remarkable six years.

In terms of practical teaching, Duck & Dive initially utilised the Shipley dive pool for their lessons, which was limited to a mere 45 minutes per week. As demand continued to increase, the centre eventually moved to Tong pool, offering lessons twice a week on Thursday and Saturdays. Unfortunately, Bradford MDC later closed the pool, forcing Duck & Dive to find an alternative solution.

To maintain control over their operations and provide a more tailored experience, Duck & Dive decided to construct their own pool in Shipley. The result was the Aqua Clinic, which has been serving the scuba diving and swimming community for over ten years.

At Duck & Dive, swimming lessons are tailored for individuals of all abilities. To assess the abilities of participants, the centre offers a paid assessment lesson during the first week. Following this, participants can enrol in a 4-week block of lessons, where they aim to offer certificates, which are optional at an additional 2 charge. The centre follows the Swim England award scheme, showcasing the effectiveness of their small-group lessons in achieving rapid progress.

If participants decide to discontinue their lessons, the centre kindly requests a written notice of two weeks in advance to offer the space to other interested individuals.

To ensure accessibility and convenience for all, Duck & Dive operates seven days a week. Their social opening times include Monday from 9am to 8pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm, Thursday from 9am to 7pm (with scuba diving lessons from 7. 30pm to 9. 30pm), Friday from 9am to 8pm, Saturday from 8.

30am to 7pm, and Sunday from 9am to 7pm. It is important to note that the specific times may vary depending on the lesson schedule, and all swim lessons have a duration of 30 minutes per session.
