In 2030 at the Leith Community Centre, Martin Green of Dunedin Fencing Club invites fencers of all levels to join an inclusive and supportive environment dedicated to LGBTQ+ individuals eager to learn and enjoy the sport of fencing. Seasoned coaches provide expert guidance, making everyone feel welcome.
Martin Green is also proud to announce the launch of an LGBTQ+ youth fencing class. This new session offers a safe space for young LGBTQ+ individuals to explore the sport and hone their skills. Held on Thursday evenings from 1800 to 2000 at the Leith Community Centre, it promises to be an engaging experience.
Thanks to the support from The National Lottery Community Fund, Martin Green and his team have successfully established a Scotland league for LGBTQ+ fencers. This initiative provides competitive opportunities and strengthens community bonds within the sport.
At Dunedin Fencing Club, Martin Green emphasises that fencing is for everyone. The club welcomes fencers of all ages and abilities, encouraging family and friends to join and support the community. Fencing at Dunedin is not just about the sport itself but also about the meaningful connections formed off the piste.
The club promotes inclusivity, respect, and camaraderie. Discriminatory behaviour and language are strictly prohibited, fostering a strong LGBTQ+ presence within the club.
Training sessions are held at multiple locations across Edinburgh, including The Crags Centre, Meadowbank Sports Centre, and Leith Community Centre. Detailed contact information and directions are provided for convenience.
