Since 1989, the Edgewater Woodvale Junior Football Club (EWJFC) has been a prominent presence in the Edgewater community, fostering a love for Australian Rules Football among local players. Many talented individuals have launched their careers with the Edgewater Woodvale Eagles and have gone on to play at both the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and the Australian Football League (AFL) levels.

Notable players who have emerged from EWJFC include midfielder Blake Acres, who has played 56 senior games for the St Kilda Football Club and was nominated for the 2016 NAB Rising Star. Similarly, prolific midfielder Shane Nelson, a three-time winner of the West Perth Football Club's Breckler Medal, also hails from EWJFC.
