Edgewater Woodvale Junior Football Club

Since 1989, the Edgewater Woodvale Junior Football Club (EWJFC) has been a prominent presence in the Edgewater community, fostering a love for Australian Rules Football among local players. Many talented individuals have launched their careers with the Edgewater Woodvale Eagles and have gone on to play at both the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and the Australian Football League (AFL) levels.

At EWJFC, the club comprises driven young players, supportive parents, passionate coaches, and dedicated volunteers. These individuals are motivated by their love for the sport and the camaraderie that comes with being part of a footy club. The club's home ground is Emerald Park, which offers excellent facilities for players to train and compete. In addition, EWJFC values the development of its junior players, recognising them as the future of the club. The club takes pride in nurturing young talent and providing opportunities for players to excel and achieve their potential. Many former players have successfully transitioned to WAFL and even AFL level competition.

Kunal Rao, the President of EWJFC, extends a warm welcome to both returning and new players and their families for the 2023 season. He emphasises the importance of inclusivity and encourages members to get involved in club activities and events throughout the season.

Notable players who have emerged from EWJFC include midfielder Blake Acres, who has played 56 senior games for the St Kilda Football Club and was nominated for the 2016 NAB Rising Star. Similarly, prolific midfielder Shane Nelson, a three-time winner of the West Perth Football Club's Breckler Medal, also hails from EWJFC.
