I want to provide them with the tools and knowledge to protect themselves and others in real-life situations. At Evolve, we believe in building confidence, self-discipline, and respect for others through our classes.

Our self-defence club is based in Southampton and focuses on teaching children and teenagers aged 5 to 16 how to defend themselves effectively. Our weekly classes are not only educational but also fun and energetic, keeping the children engaged and motivated.

We provide realistic self-defence training by incorporating concepts from various martial arts disciplines such as Krav Maga, Filipino Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Thai Boxing. Our experienced instructor guides the children on how to apply these techniques in real-life situations, empowering them to stay safe in dangerous and conflict-oriented scenarios.

1. Build Confidence: We aim to boost the self-confidence of our students, enabling them to take control of any situation they may encounter.

2. Develop Self-Discipline and Respect for Others: We believe in instilling discipline and respect in our students, teaching them the importance of respecting others and following rules.

3. Improve Fitness, Strength, Flexibility, and Co-ordination: Our classes provide an excellent way for children to improve their fitness levels, strength, flexibility, and co-ordination through physical activities and training sessions.

4. Empower Children to Defend Themselves: Our ultimate goal is to empower children to defend themselves effectively against danger and conflict, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge.

1. Junior Classes (5-10 years): These classes introduce young children to self-defence techniques through play and games in a safe environment. We focus on teaching basic skills without unnecessarily alerting children to potential dangers in the outside world.

2. Teen Classes (11–16 years): Our teen classes focus on practical self-defence training, teaching teenagers how to protect themselves and others. We equip them with skills to navigate everyday conflicts they may encounter in school or on the street.

Evolve Self Defence is founded by Darren Willmore, a highly experienced self-defence instructor and a father of two young children. Darren understands the importance of giving children and teenagers the confidence to face any situation they may encounter in later life.
