Falcons Badminton Club in Welling, south-east London, is run by the enthusiastic Alex. Competing in the Ravensbourne and Orpington/NorthWestKent leagues, Alex offers players a mix of competitive and social badminton. Open to men, ladies, mixed, and composite teams, Alex ensures everyone, regardless of skill or gender, finds their spot.
Membership’s open to both regulars and guests, though absolute beginners should check out Badminton England’s beginner sessions. Want to pop by for a game night or a match? Just drop Alex an email beforehand. Guests are always welcome to come and experience the friendly vibe and competitive games.
Club nights are every Monday at Welling Secondary School and Wednesday at Harris Academy Falconwood, 8-10pm. With four courts at each venue, there’s plenty of space for everyone to play. Remember, these nights aren't beginner-friendly – beginners should look up Badminton England instead.
The new season kicks off on 1st September, and membership is available now. More details and the membership form are up on the club's website. The annual fee covers everything from September to the end of August next year – a great deal for regular players.
For those planning a visit, the Monday venue is Harris Academy Falconwood at The Green, Welling, DA16 2PE. It’s between houses 112 and 114, with on-site parking and nearby bus stops (B16, B15, 51, 89, 486). Falconwood Station is a 10-minute walk away.
On Wednesdays, they meet at Welling Secondary School on Berwick Road, Welling, DA16 1QU. The sports hall is across from number 11, with nearby bus stops (96, 411, B11, B15) and Welling Station about 15 minutes away.

Guests are always welcome, and please arrange your visit via email to falconsbadders@gmail.com. Our public liability insurance permits guests to play only a maximum of six times in any season.
Club nights on Wednesdays at Harris Academy, Falconwood have been suspended until 1st July due to the courts being used for school exams. During May and June, club nights are held on Thursdays at Hurstmere School, Hurst Road, Sidcup, DA15 9AW between 8pm and 10pm.
