Farnborough & District Angling Society

Farnborough & District Angling Society, also known as FADAS, is a prestigious fishing club located in Camberley. Established in 1933, the club aims to provide its members with a diverse range of fishing experiences in beautiful surroundings. With limited membership numbers and a focus on conservation, FADAS ensures that its waters are never subject to excessive angling pressure, creating an ideal environment for fish, wildlife, and anglers alike.

The club boasts two stunning lakes and over 5 miles of rivers, including the Whitewater and Blackwater. Shawfields Main Lake is a picturesque spot with its many islands, patches of lily-pads, varying depths, and lush weed growth in certain areas. The River Whitewater is a truly captivating chalk stream, flowing through picturesque countryside and farmland. Anglers can enjoy the tranquilly of the river, undisturbed by the usual crowds found in public spaces.

The Whitewater is home to a variety of fish species, including chub, trout, dace, roach, perch, bream, and pike.

The renowned River Blackwater is known for its exceptional fishing opportunities. Compared to rivers of similar size, the Blackwater boasts an impressive number of fish, particularly roach and chubb. Anglers can expect excellent catches without much effort in certain swims. However, the river also presents challenges, with water levels and colour affecting fish location and appetite.

Bream and barbel are more elusive catches, but landing one will surely be a moment worth sharing with the club's gallery.
