Welcome to the Geraldine Lamb Dance School! Established in Plymouth in 1918, the dance school has remained in the same family for generations. At Geraldine Lamb Dance School, our students are our top priority, and we are dedicated to helping them reach their full potential.

Our main goal is to foster a natural love for music and movement while building our students' confidence and having a fantastic time. Many of our former students have gone on to perform professionally all over the world, including on the West End and Broadway, in film, and on television. However, our students also find success in various other fields and look back on their time at GLDS with fondness, recognising the impact it had on their lives.

As an award-winning dance school, we take pride in leading the way in dance education in the South West. We are thrilled to welcome you to the GLDS family and show you why we are the best in the business.

Our dance school offers a wide range of classes for students of all ages and abilities. From parent and toddler ballet to acrobatic arts, musical theatre, and contemporary dance, we have something for everyone. We also offer classes in RAD ballet, ISTD modern, and ISTD tap, ensuring a well-rounded dance education.

At GLDS, we have a talented and dedicated teaching faculty who genuinely care about our students. Our teachers have extensive experience in dance teaching and stay up to date with current trends in the theatre scene. They not only teach dance but also support our community, raise funds for charity, and go above and beyond for our students during performances and examination days. Our teachers are multi-talented, serving as hairdressers, costume designers, seamstresses, and prop makers.

Most importantly, they are someone our students trust and can rely on.

All of our teachers hold a current DBS certificate and are fully insured. They also attend Continued Professional Development courses to ensure their qualifications are always up-to-date. Our teaching faculty consists of professional dance teachers with relevant qualifications and years of experience in performing and teaching. We are proud to have world-class teachers right here in Plymouth.
