Gosport Borough Badminton Club

Kevin Williams has a message for the sports community. As the organiser of Gosport Borough Badminton Club, he wants to extend an invitation to everyone interested in badminton, whether you're in it for fun or looking to sharpen your skills.

Every Tuesday evening, Kevin and the team run a Starter Club Night at Bay House School from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. It’s perfect for those who have never picked up a racket or need to dust off their skills. There's a focus on doubles play, grips, serves, and basic shots, all in a friendly, encouraging setting.

For the more experienced players, the Main Club Night is held on Wednesday evenings at Brune Park School. This session is ideal for gearing up for league matches. Gosport Borough Badminton Club currently competes in both the Southampton and Portsmouth Badminton Leagues, featuring multiple teams including Men's, Mixed, Hybrid, and Vets teams.

In addition, the club organises special training sessions aimed at refining your badminton skills, focusing on shots, movement, and tactics.

Kevin is also keen to start up a junior badminton club, with the help of Meen Long. Both are qualified coaches and passionate about introducing children to the sport. These sessions are designed to foster athleticism, concentration, and self-discipline, all while keeping the experience fun and engaging.
