Hapkido Self Defence Wellington is a dedicated martial arts school located in Wellington, New Zealand. Offering traditional Hapkido training, the school welcomes men, women, and children aged 6 and above. The academy operates out of a martial arts centre off Adelaide Road in Mt Cook, Wellington, with facilities including 200m2 of padded mats, changing rooms, kick bags, and other martial arts equipment.

Run as a non-profit club, Wellington Hapkido Academy is entirely supported by its members who provide voluntary instruction and administration. The focus of the school is to teach practical self-defence in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. Students are encouraged to learn and understand self-defence as a means to improve their fitness, well-being, and confidence.

The techniques are based on meeting and redirecting an opponent's attack, allowing the defender to control the situation and, if necessary, employ offensive finishing techniques.

Wellington Hapkido is affiliated with the Hapkido Federation of New Zealand, the governing body for traditional Hapkido in New Zealand. The school's Founder and President, Grand Master Lee Jung Nam, 9th Dan Hapkido, 9th Dan Taekwondo, leads the federation. The Chief Instructor for Hapkido in New Zealand is Master Callum Forbes, 6th Dan Hapkido, who operates the Upper Hutt Club and oversees Hapkido New Zealand with the help of Senior Instructors at affiliated clubs. Wellington Hapkido is also a member of the World Kido Federation and Hanminjok Hapkido Association, renowned and respected international self-defence organisations.
