Welcome to the Hertfordshire Kudo Academy, the top martial arts club in Baldock. The Hertfordshire Kudo Academy is proud to be the only place in Hertfordshire where practitioners can learn and practise Kudo Daido Juku.

Kudo Daido Juku is a hybrid martial art that encompasses a wide range of techniques, including full-contact punches, kicks, knees, elbows, clinch work, throws/takedowns, and submission techniques on the ground. While its origins lie in Kakuto Karate (Combat Karate), Kudo is much more than a mixed fighting system. It is a comprehensive sport, a method of self-defence and health maintenance for adults, and a system for youth education.

One of the core values of Kudo Daido Juku is “Reigi,” which emphasises respect and etiquette. In this sense, Kudo is a modern Budo that has gained popularity in over 60 countries worldwide.

At the Hertfordshire Kudo Academy, our philosophy is to bring high-quality tuition of this unique style of martial arts to the Hertfordshire area. We believe that Kudo is a beautiful fusion of full-contact fighting and traditional Budo values.

Our club is open and friendly, catering to the communities of Baldock, Letchworth, and their surrounding areas. Regardless of your skill level, our classes are designed with you in mind. Whether you aspire to be a competitive Kudo fighter, seek personal development through martial arts, or desire to learn self-defence skills, our ultimate goal is to provide the training you desire.

While different skill levels may exist within our classes, we ensure that each session is tailored to your fitness level and ability. We firmly believe in the principle that “There is no substitute for hard work and there is no shortcut to success. ” Our training methodology is founded on the repetition of fundamental and advanced techniques (Kihon) and fosters a mindset of constant learning and self-development.

If you are interested in joining the Hertfordshire Kudo Academy, we offer a one-week free trial for new students. Our adult classes begin on April 2, 2022, with sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 pm to 9:45 pm, and Saturdays from 2 pm to 3:30 pm.
