For those who are passionate about Highland Dance, Lawrence Dance Academy offers classes tailored to suit dancers of all levels. Whether you are just beginning your journey or already have experience, our classes are designed to accommodate everyone.
Throughout the year, we conduct dance examinations where dancers have the opportunity to showcase their skills and receive valuable feedback from professional judges. These examinations, authorised by the international dance body UKAdance, not only provide dancers with personal recognition but also the chance to earn certificates and awards based on their individual performances. It's a fantastic opportunity to push yourself and grow as a dancer.
In April, we are thrilled to announce the Third Highland Scholarship Event. This year, the event will take on a virtual format, allowing dancers from all over to participate. Performance and Solo Choreography will be the highlights of this event, and we invite all UKA Medallists to take part. To ensure everyone's safety, performances will be recorded and submitted to your dance teacher by April 16th, 2021. The winners will be announced and celebrated on the UKAdance Facebook site.
Additionally, Highland Dancers can look forward to competing in various Highland Dance Competitions held across the country. These competitions provide a platform for dancers to showcase their skills and compete against others at their level. The ultimate dream for many competitive dancers is to participate in the prestigious World Highland Dancing Championships held annually at Cowal in Dunoon, Scotland. Please note that due to the current COVID restrictions, all competitive events have been temporarily postponed. However, we are here to support you along your journey and help you progress in your career, even during these challenging times.
Dedicated Highland Dance classes are available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday throughout Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. We are pleased to announce that we have resumed our in-person classes, with necessary COVID restrictions in place. Your safety is our priority, which is why we have implemented social distancing measures and a one-way system within the studio.
