Highland dancing is one of the highlights of Scottish artistic performance and is a physically demanding and technically challenging dance style. Whether you want to compete or just enjoy a full-body fitness workout, our Highland classes are perfect for you.

Tap dancing, popularised by legendary performer Fred Astaire, is a clippity-clap-snap dance style that is adored by Broadway and the West End. Our Tap classes will have you grooving to the rhythm and mastering those iconic tap sounds.

Scottish National dances are stylised and emphasise character over technique. It is a less rigid dance style compared to Highland, allowing dancers to express their individuality and personality.

Disco-Freestyle, formerly known as Disco, emerged in the 1970s and gained popularity through iconic artists like ABBA and The Bee Gees. Today, it is likened to contemporary dance and is a fun and energetic style that combines elements of ballet, jazz, and freestyle.

Ballet is the world's most famous dance style and serves as the foundation for contemporary, freestyle, and jazz dancing. Whether you dream of dancing in productions like The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, or Romeo & Juliet, or simply want to improve your technique, our Ballet classes will help you develop grace, strength, and flexibility.

For our youngest dancers aged 2–3 years old, we offer Pre-School classes that provide a fun and intuitive introduction to movement, body control, rhythm, and the opportunity to make new friends.

At Lawrence Dance Academy, we prioritise the professional growth of our students. We offer UK Dance examination grades and SQA qualifications, which provide UCAS points towards university applications.

Our dancers have achieved remarkable success, with Isla Gauld placing 5th in the Juvenile World Championships and Robyn Hall qualifying for the Junior World Championships. They have also performed at prestigious events such as the International Gathering of Scottish Highland Dance at Disneyland and various Tattoos around the world.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, our dancers have participated in workshops and activities, including a Burns Night showcase to demonstrate their talents.
