Hope in the Valley RDA, run by the dedicated team led by Jane, is a horse riding school based in Lewes, East Sussex, offering disabled children the chance to experience the joy and therapeutic benefits of horse riding. For 50 years, Jane and her team have championed the abilities within disabilities, making a real difference in their community.
Sessions are held weekly at Plumpton College, and the school operates entirely on the hard work of passionate volunteers, funded solely by donations and bequests. They currently care for four ponies, with additional support from generous pony owners.
Hope in the Valley is a proud member of the Riding for the Disabled Association, connecting with over 500 groups nationwide to enrich the lives of disabled children through horse riding. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Jane and her volunteers ensured all spring term sessions ran smoothly, showcasing exceptional teamwork and commitment.
Jane and the team also host various events throughout the year, including their much-awaited Christmas Party, featuring games, awards, cake, and a visit from Father Christmas, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.
Stay connected with Hope in the Valley on their social media, particularly Twitter, for the latest updates and activities. Their Annual Review is also available for download, highlighting their achievements and impact.
As a registered charity, Hope in the Valley operates under charity number 1074384 and invites everyone to join their mission. Whether through volunteering, riding, or spreading the word, Jane believes everyone can make a positive difference in the lives of disabled children with Hope in the Valley RDA.
