Come join the North Bay Canoe Club for an exciting two-week adventure at the Intro to Sprint Racing Camp! This full-day program is perfect for kids aged 8 to 13 who are eager to take their canoe and kayak skills to the next level and try their hand at competitive sprint racing.
Running from July 2 to August 23, 2024, Monday to Friday, this camp will immerse participants in daily training sessions focused on mastering the fundamentals of balance, paddling technique, training strategies, and the thrill of sprint competition in kayaks and canoes. Plus, campers can look forward to a special treat of a small ice cream cone from The Green Store each week and they'll receive an awesome NBCC T-shirt to remember their experience.
Please note that some previous paddling experience is necessary, so make sure your child has completed at least one NBCC program like Canoe Kids before signing up. Safety is our top priority, so all campers will undergo a swim assessment on the first day and must wear a Personal Flotation Device while on or near the water.
Don't forget to pack all the essentials for a day on the water, from sunscreen and insect repellent to clothing for any weather conditions. Campers should be able to apply their own sunscreen and stay hydrated throughout the day. In the event of bad weather, we'll have plenty of fun on-land and indoor activities ready to keep the excitement going until the sun comes out again.
