Itosu-Kai drop-in

Itosu-Kai drop-in is a traditional martial arts school located in Etobicoke, Toronto, offering classes in Karate and Kobudo. Affiliated with the Itosu-Ryu Karatedo International Federation (IKIF) and the All Japan Kobudo Association, the school is dedicated to teaching the ancient and honorable art forms of Japanese-Okinawan Karate and Kobudo.

Karate, which means "empty hand," emphasizes the practitioner's ability to defend themselves without weapons. Students at Itosu-Kai drop-in begin each class with "mokuso," a meditative moment to clear the mind and prepare for instruction. The school believes in training the spirit, mind, and body, encouraging students to work hard and remain dedicated to the art.

The practice of Itosu-Kai Karate offers not only physical fitness but also spiritual strength and lifelong friendships. Students are encouraged to be humble, strive for perfection, and follow the guidance of their senseis to truly master the art. Headed by Shihan Kei Tsumura, an 8th Dan in Karate-do and 7th Dan in Kobu-do, Itosu-Kai drop-in is committed to providing high-quality instruction in traditional martial arts.
