Shind Jinen-Ry, JKR Karate. Zanshin Hombu Dojo UK, located in Nottingham, is a Karate club that offers training in the traditional Japanese martial art. As the official representatives of the Japan Karate-Do Ryobukai International in the UK, the club is dedicated to teaching the original Shind Jinen-Ry style as developed by the founder, Yasuhiro Konishi Soke.

Yasuhiro Konishi Soke, a pioneer in karate, was one of the first karateka to teach karate on mainland Japan. He played a crucial role in the development of modern karate and its acceptance in mainland Japan. The style he created, Shind Jinen-Ry, translates to “godly, natural style, complete empty-handed way” and emphasises living a moral life in harmony with the divine way.

The club operates under the guidance of the Japan Karate-Do Ryobu-Kai (JKR), the original and only governing body for Shind Jinen-Ry. It is led by a committee with Kiyoshi Yamazaki, 9th Dan, serving as Kaicho (President) and International Director. With branches in over 20 countries, JKR is known for its emphasis on discipline, consistent attendance, etiquette, and hard work. It incorporates elements of Koryu-te, aikido, jujutsu, and Kenjutsu in its curriculum, providing a comprehensive training experience.
