Kendal-ki-Aikido

Kendal-ki-Aikido, located in Kendal, is a prestigious Karate school that offers high-quality martial arts training. As the Kendal branch of the KSMBDA organisation, we are part of a select group of clubs throughout the UK. At Kendal-ki-Aikido, we specialise in the practise of Aikido, a martial art that combines self-defence techniques, mental discipline, and the development of inner strength.

Aikido training at Kendal-ki-Aikido offers numerous benefits. It enhances mental focus, teaching students to remain calm and centred even in challenging situations. Our instructors are highly skilled and dedicated, providing expert guidance in a safe and supportive environment. Students will learn the art of self-defence, acquiring effective techniques that can be used in real-life situations.

The practise of Aikido also focuses on the safe redirection of energy, allowing individuals to diffuse potentially harmful situations without causing harm to themselves or others. Additionally, our classes include special exercises and meditation practises that help increase the practitioner's Ki, or life force energy.

We welcome students of different ages and skill levels. From January 26, 2022, we will accept individuals who are 15 years old or older, provided they are accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Our classes take place at the Queen Katherine School in Kendal every Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The classes were restarted in September 2021, and we are excited to continue providing exceptional martial arts training.

The Queen Katherine School gym, located on Appleby Road in Kendal, serves as our training venue.
