Welcome to Koondrook Barham Football Netball Club, a sports club located in The Council of the Shire of Wakool. The club was founded in 1996 through the merger of two teams from the now defunct Northern District Football League and the former Northern & Echuca Football League. The merger brought together the twin towns of Koondrook in Victoria and Barham in NSW, breaking down state borders and galvanising the community.
In our first season, the club competed in the Northern & Echuca Football League before transitioning to the Mid-Murray Football League, which was later renamed the Central Murray Football League to include a wider region. Since the merger, the club has achieved great success, with the River Raiders winning four football premierships in various grades.
Our netball programme has also been successful, with our netballers winning two netball flags. We take pride in our club's achievements, which include several League Best & Fairest awards and leading goal kickers in different grades.
The club's original jumper featured black with yellow and white hoops, representing the Koondrook and Barham clubs. However, in the past five seasons, we have adopted the red, blue, and gold hoops of the Adelaide Crows.
Each Saturday, our club fields six teams of football and six netball sides, comprising juniors and open age groups. All our home games are played at Barham Recreation Reserve. We are a family-oriented club with a strong supporter base, and we welcome visitors to experience country football at its finest.
The club's anthem, “We Are the Raiders,” reflects our team's spirit and determination. We never give up and fight for victory until the final flag is flying.
