Hello Sports Community,
Just a quick note about our karate school from Kim. Lancing Freestyle Karate, based in Lancing, West Sussex, is the place to be for anyone interested in karate, regardless of your experience level. Kim and the team are all about creating a fun, respectful, and engaging training environment.
At Lancing Freestyle Karate, sessions cover everything from discipline and kata to self-defence and sparring. They also focus on fitness and flexibility. Kim and the other instructors manage to blend a modern approach with traditional karate values, adapting to the needs of each student.
They run two sessions per week:
- Saturday mornings from 9:15 am to 10:30 am at either St Michael and All Angels Church Hall or St. Peter the Apostle Church Hall (check the calendar for the exact location).
- Tuesday evenings from 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm at St Michael and All Angels Church Hall.
Newbies can try out the first three sessions for free. After that, fees are £5 for adults and £4 for juniors. There’s a new membership license fee of £20 and a renewal fee of £15.
Students can work their way up through the belt system, with gradings for coloured belts happening every four months and black belt gradings every six months. These gradings cover a range of skills, and Kim ensures they are well-practised during regular sessions.
The school welcomes everyone aged five and up, and there's a family discount available. Details are on the “Fees” page.
Lancing Freestyle Karate is very much a community effort and gets great feedback from students. For more info, including contact details, a photo gallery, and a map to the training locations, check out the website.
Whether you're just starting out or have been practising karate for years, Lancing Freestyle Karate, with Kim at the helm, offers a fantastic place to learn.
Cheers!
