Laprana is a wellness centre, mental health service, and yoga studio located in Hurstbridge, offering a range of holistic services to support individuals on their healing journey. Founded by Av Joy Sloan, Laprana combines creative arts therapy, earth medicine, retreats, and yoga and meditation to help individuals reconnect with their inner peace and joy.
Av Joy Sloan is an artist, creative arts therapist, integrative entheogenic companion, and Vedic yoga and meditation teacher. With a deep passion for healing and self-discovery, Av has dedicated the past ten years to exploring various modalities and teachings from around the world. From ashrams in India to studying ayahuasca, psychology to psychotherapy, conscious dance to creative arts, Av's journey has been one of constant growth and learning.
At Laprana, the focus is on reorienting and moving towards the embodied experience of the self. Through attending to the somatic experience and giving form and transformation to the places of 'stored aliveness' in the body, individuals can reconnect with their true selves. This process happens naturally, effortlessly, spontaneously, and through grace.
The services offered at Laprana include 1:1 consultations, small group sessions, retreats, and workshops. These sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, providing a safe and supportive space for exploration and growth. Av's expertise in creative arts therapy, integrative entheogenic practises, and Vedic yoga and meditation allows for a holistic and integrative approach to healing.
Laprana also takes a culturally sensitive approach, recognising and respecting the Traditional Owners of the land on which the centre is located, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Wurundjeri-Willam People of the Kulin Nation. Laprana pays its respects to the elders, both past and present, and acknowledges their ongoing connexion to the land.
Av's passion for healing and self-discovery has led her to travel extensively, seeking wisdom from various indigenous cultures around the world. Laprana is a reflection of this deep commitment to healing and wholeness, bringing together the wisdom of Eastern philosophy and Western studies of neuropsychology.
Whether you are seeking support for mental health, personal growth, or a deeper connexion to yourself, Laprana offers a nurturing and transformative space for individuals to explore their inner journey. Through the integration of creative arts therapy, earth medicine, retreats, and yoga and meditation, Laprana invites individuals to return to a state of peace, joy, and aliveness.
