About
---
Jamie at the Norwich Frostbite Sailing Club has got something special for all sailors out there. Nestled in Thorpe St. Andrew on the River Yare, this club has been around since 1933, making it one of the oldest winter sailing spots in the UK.
You might miss it from the road, but trust Jamie, it’s a doddle to find. Just head down Yarmouth Road, take a turn on Girlings Lane, and you’re there. Plenty of parking, so no need to worry about squeezing your car in.
Every Sunday morning from October to May, the club comes alive with races. They’ve got class and allcomers racing, so whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started, there’s something for you. They mostly sail Norfolk One-Designs but are always keen to see other river-friendly boats out on the water.
Jamie loves seeing new faces and different boats joining in. It’s all about building a mix of sailors who can share their passion and maybe pick up a thing or two from each other.
For the latest updates and to connect with other members, check out their Facebook page and the website. The site’s got everything you need – race results, upcoming events, and even a duty rota.
As they celebrate their 90th anniversary, Jamie is pumped to keep the good vibes rolling and see more people making waves on the River Yare. The Norwich Frostbite Sailing Club is all about coming together, enjoying the sail, and making some great memories.
