Ogi Dojo

Ogi Dojo is a small dojo in Padstow , Sydney. We are dedicated to teaching real , effective martial arts thats applicable in every situation. 

​Traditional martial arts such as Taijutsu, Karate or Wing Chun often lack realistic stress testing and modern applications. Modern sports such as Boxing , MMA and Wrestling often lack the philosophy , insights and realism that exist outside of competition. More Combative arts such as Kali , Krav Maga and Keysi often lack discipline, conditioning and an understanding of other martial forms. 

 ​​At Ogi we aim to create a balance point. 

​-Traditional Philosophy 

Understanding history and the application of various forms , skills weaponry throughout history as well as the various ideologies of those that would utilize the skills.
Warriors should be both students of the sword and pen. (so to speak)

​-Modern Application

We live in a society and cannot approach every situation with a "do or die" attitude, this will land you in prison. Sport forms of martial art utilize this concept well, but not perfectly. 

Competition drives evolution and this is true for martial arts. 

​-Combative Nature

Learning how to fight only in the confines of a rigid sport structure will lead to weakness outside of the ring.  Understanding the methods and tools of a bad actor and knowing how to utilize them is important for every person who takes their security seriously.
