Come join the OYS Laser Race Team at Oakville Yacht Squadron for a summer of exciting sailboat racing! The program is perfect for sailors who are looking to up their game and compete in regattas. Participants will have the opportunity to work towards their CANSail 5 & 6 certifications while honing their racing techniques.
Throughout the program, sailors will learn about proper body positioning, sail controls, tactical mark rounding, gybing, tacking, and much more. It's a great way to improve your skills on the water. Just make sure you have your own Laser dinghy, although charter options are available if needed.
Regatta participation is a big part of the program, so parental support is encouraged for chaperoning, trailer hauling, and travel planning. Coaching is provided at regattas to help you succeed and have a great time.
