For those passionate about fly-fishing, the lower Tongariro River offers year-round opportunities. During the winter spawning run, anglers can engage in the thrilling pursuit of strong and fresh-run trout. Our team of professional guides can arrange half or full-day trips on the Tongariro, Tauranga-Taupō, Rangitikei, and other renowned rivers in the area.
Embark on the raft fishing tour at The Rafting Centre, conveniently located at 95 Atirau Rd, Turangi. The tour kicks off at 8 am, with flexible trip times available for groups.
The price for this incredible experience is $1500 per raft, suitable for 1 or 2 people. If you're part of a larger group, don't worry, as the maximum capacity is 3 people. Please note that participants must be at least 13 years old to take part.
To join this adventure, guests are required to bring their own waders, fishing tackle, a sense of humour, and a valid Taupō fishing license. For overnight trips, we kindly ask guests to pack their own toiletries, sleeping bags, a change of clothes, and refreshments.
At Tongariro River Rafting, we are dedicated to preventing the spread of didymo and other waterborne pests. In order to maintain the pristine nature of our rivers, guests are kindly requested to check, clean, and dry their gear before arrival. Failure to comply may necessitate the use of our didymo cleaning station.
