Robertson Dance Academy (RDA), located in Dunfermline, Fife, is the place where young athletes can break a sweat and unleash their creativity. Miss Gillian Robertson, the force behind RDA, invites kids of all ages to explore Ballet, Tap, Modern, Scottish Highland Dancing, Commercial Street Dance, AcroDANCE, and Musical Theatre.
For the youngest enthusiasts, those as young as 2 can start with Tiny Toes Ballet or Tap, learning the basics of dance and movement. Kids aged 3–5 move on to Starlite 1 & 2, diving into Modern, AcroDANCE, and Scottish Highland Dancing, and even taking their first British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) exams.
The First Steps programme, perfect for 6–7 year olds, focuses on linking dance steps and building routines. By 8, students tackle more complex exercises in Pre-Primary & Primary levels, preparing for BATD graded examinations from Grade 1 to Grade 5, enhancing their technique, strength, flexibility, and performance skills.
RDA isn't just about traditional dance; the Musical Theatre class combines singing, acting, and dancing for a full performance experience. The Commercial Street Dance class offers the latest moves in Commercial Jazz and Street Dance, perfect for those who want to stay current with fresh routines.
Miss Gillian, who started her dance journey at 3, has expanded her skills to include a wide range of styles. She opened RDA in 2011 after gaining valuable teaching experience at 'The Fiona Henderson School of Dancing'. Under her guidance, students at RDA can showcase their talent in school shows, participate in competitions, and take BATD exams.
