Nestled on the historic Isle of Sheppey, Sheerness Golf Club features an 18-hole semi-links golf course known for its natural hazards, making it a splendid challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
Thanks to its stunning surroundings, the club regularly hosts inter-county matches and Kent Golf Union championship events. The course design enables players to fully enjoy the area's beauty, with well-positioned bunkers, rolling fairways, and carefully maintained greens.
Beyond the course, the clubhouse extends the warm hospitality of Sheerness Golf Club. Open to both members and visitors, the clubhouse boasts a friendly atmosphere and a relaxed dress code. It includes a fully licensed bar offering a variety of beverages and a large outdoor seating area, perfect for relaxing and watching the activity on the 18th hole.
Members and social members benefit from exclusive discounts—22.5% off drinks and 10% off food. Additionally, ample parking is provided for all visitors' convenience.
Sheerness Golf Club's history spans over a century. Originally a 9-hole course designed by Willie Parks Jr., an Open Golf Champion, the club was established in 1908. Influential naval, military, dockyard officers, and local leaders saw golf as ideal recreation for Naval Officers. The course was extended to 18 holes in 1977 under the guidance of professional golfers, enhancing its variety and challenge.
For those interested, a book detailing the club’s storied past is available upon request.
