Southampton Gymnastics Club is an inclusive and encouraging sports complex located in Southampton, New Zealand. With over four decades of experience, the club has achieved success at the regional, national, and international levels in gymnastics. The club's headquarters are situated at the purpose-built Southampton Gymnastics Centre, which is located in the grounds of Redbridge Community School. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with multiple sprung floors, air floors, a sunken trampoline, and a unique feature called a 'gymnastics pit,' which is essential for producing national champions. There is also a second sprung floor in a separate gymnasium, a dance studio, a weights room, and a multipurpose room.
Children as young as 3 months old can participate in the club's pre-school gymnastics programme, while the Elite Acrobatics Squad provides specialised facilities and coaching expertise for advanced gymnasts. The club is proud to have produced gymnasts who have achieved World medals and is recognised as a High-Performance Centre for Acrobatic Gymnastics.
To register for a class, interested individuals can fill out an online registration form available on the club's website. Some classes may have waiting lists, and once a space becomes available, participants will receive an invitation for a taster session. Southampton Gymnastics Club also provides financial support for members on low or modest income who may be unable to afford the full fees.
