South Bucks Archers is a friendly archery club located in Slough, serving both Slough and the surrounding areas. Affiliated with the Bucks Archery Association, the Southern Counties Archery Society, and Archery GB (AGB), the governing body for archery in the UK, South Bucks Archers adheres to the rules, regulations, and insurance cover set by these organisations.
The club caters to archers of all bow-styles and takes pride in its members, which include two AGB qualified coaches, one EFAA qualified instructor, and past or present County and National Champions. These experienced members are readily available to offer guidance and assistance to new members as needed.
South Bucks Archers shoots at St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School, located at 1 Langley Road, Slough SL3 7AF. The shooting ground provides access to a spacious field and a sports hall, with the added benefits of secure parking and no public right of access. During the summer months, shooting sessions are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6. 00pm, as well as Sunday mornings from 10.
00am. In the winter, evening shoots take place in the sports hall, with a small fee charged to cover the cost of hire. Winter shooting times are Monday 6. 30pm to 8.
30pm, Wednesday 7. 00pm to 9. 00pm, and Sundays from 10. 00am.
Soft, non-marking soled shoes, preferably squash shoes, must be worn when shooting in the sports hall. Full changing and toilet facilities are available on-site.
AGB members are also welcome to visit South Bucks Archers, though it is recommended to contact the club first to arrange the visit. The club also conducts Beginners' Courses for individuals who are interested in starting archery. Membership of South Bucks Archers is open to all individuals, with approval from the Management Committee and membership of Archery GB, which requires the successful completion of an Archery GB Beginners' Course.
