Studio 94 Dance is a small dance school located in the heart of Stroud, New Zealand. They offer a variety of classes for children aged 2 and above, aiming to inspire their students to discover their creative individuality while exploring the foundations of dance. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Studio 94 Dance provides an exciting and nurturing start to their students' dance education.
The founder and principal of Studio 94 Dance is Emily, who started dancing at the age of 5. She successfully passed examinations in Ballet, Tap, and Modern Dance, and later pursued a degree in Dance Studies at the University of Roehampton. With a passion for teaching, Emily also completed a PGCE course at the University of Exeter, specialising in Secondary Dance. Emily has since taught as a teacher of Drama and Performing Arts in the secondary education sector.
Her dream of starting her own dance school became a reality in 2022 with the establishment of Studio 94 Dance.
Studio 94 Dance offers a range of classes on Saturday mornings at the Archway Sports Centre in Stroud.
- Baby Ballet: Introduces children to the dance environment through basic ballet movements incorporated with storytelling.
- Introduction to Ballet: Builds on the foundations of Baby Ballet and teaches students the fundamental technique for their age range, enhancing their creative movement skills.
- Tap: Teaches basic footwork, musicality, and expression, providing a fun way for children to learn rhythm.
- Musical Theatre: Introduces students to repertoire from well-known shows, helping them develop their performance style and quality in an enjoyable way.
- Pre-Primary Ballet: Further develops the basic technical movements learned in the Introduction to Ballet class, focusing on performance, style, and coordination.
- Primary Ballet: Enables students to expand their dance vocabulary, performance quality, and graceful movements, building on the foundational grades to establish key ballet principles.
Studio 94 Dance follows the British Ballet Organisation syllabus, ensuring students receive a comprehensive and structured dance education.
Fees for classes at Studio 94 Dance start from 5 per class, payable 6 times a year. An invoice will be sent at the start of each term, with a 14-day payment period. A 10% late payment fee will be added if payment is not received within this time. Please note that missed classes are non-refundable.
For the first few lessons, students are encouraged to wear flexible clothing that allows for easy movement, such as leggings and a top. Once students are settled, uniform can be ordered from the Studio 94 Dance Shop, with girls wearing pink attire.
