Sushan's Karate-Do Academy

Welcome to Sushan's Karate-Do Academy (SKA) in the scenic region of Kalimpong! Established by the esteemed Shihan Sushan Thapa on 30th November 2014, the academy is dedicated to spreading the art of Karate-Do among the youth of the hills. The mission is to promote health awareness, instill values of honor, respect, and tradition, and empower the community through the discipline of sports karate.

SKA offers a comprehensive training program catering to over 1000 students, covering various belt levels from the foundational White Belt to the advanced Black Belt San-Dan. Training is conducted not only at the central location on Dr. B. L Dixit Road, Kalimpong, but also in several renowned educational institutions across the region. This widespread presence ensures that children from diverse backgrounds get an opportunity to participate and excel in Karate-Do at district, state, national, and international levels.

SKA is known for its holistic approach to martial arts, combining traditional Karate, Sports Karate-Do, physical fitness, meditation, and yoga. Special self-defense classes, particularly for girls, and private sessions are also available. The academy holds annual summer and winter training camps, along with biannual belt grading exams, under the guidance of internationally qualified coaches.

Affiliated with prestigious bodies such as the Kalimpong District Karate-Do Association, Karate India Organization, and World Karate Federation, SKA ensures that its students are trained to international standards. Emphasizing community spirit and excellence, the academy organizes various championship events and free self-defense training camps, fostering a supportive and empowered community in the beautiful Kalimpong hills.
