Swim 2 U

Swim2u Harrogate is the premier swim school in the Harrogate and District area. With a belief that smaller class sizes are more beneficial for children's development, Swim2u offers classes with a maximum of four children. This ensures that each child receives ample attention and feedback from their instructor, allowing them to learn and improve their swimming technique effectively.

Unlike larger classes where it can be challenging for children to hear and see demonstrations, Swim2u's instructors are present on the poolside to provide clear instructions and stroke analysis. Additionally, there are a maximum of six instructors working within the Swim2u team, ensuring that children can progress through different ability groups at the same time slots. This arrangement also allows siblings of varying ages and abilities to swim together, reducing the amount of time parents spend watching their children during lessons.

Swim2u's teaching approach focuses on developing the four recognised strokes in a relaxed and confident manner. Through a hands-on approach, instructors manipulate head and body positions to improve coordination, concentration, and stamina. By helping children understand how specific movements contribute to high-quality swimming, Swim2u aims to instil water confidence and a lifelong love for the sport.

The Swim2u team is passionate about swimming and patient with instruction, understanding that personal tuition can greatly enhance a child's understanding and lead to faster results. The school has a track record of success, with one student, Georgina, achieving all the badges leading up to and including her NSA9 and 1000 metres by the age of six. This exceptional progress demonstrates the effectiveness of Swim2u's approach.

In terms of practicalities, Swim2u offers lessons for children aged 3. 5 years and older, regardless of their ability level. Lessons take place on different days at venues such as Henshaws College, Belmont Grosvenor School, and Harrogate Ladies College. Fees and course dates can be found on the Swim2u website, and enrolment is assumed for current pupils unless notice is given in advance.

Payment can be made in full before the start of the course or at the first lesson for cash payments.
