Swimgainz is a Swimming instructor/Sports club located in Halesowen, Birmingham, in the heart of the West Midlands. Situated just 2 minutes away from J2 &3 of the M5, Swimgainz is conveniently accessible for both local residents and those from further afield. The club boasts an impressive high-performance endless pool that has a top-end speed of 63 seconds per 100 metres. This unique pool allows for a personalised experience for each swimmer, catering to their specific needs and development.
One of the standout features of Swimgainz is their state-of-the-art camera system, located both in and out of the pool. This system offers real-time video analysis and instant feedback to the swimmers, facilitating continuous communication through wireless, bone conduction headsets. After each training session, swimmers will receive copies of their swimming videos, along with a clear summary highlighting their key focus areas for improvement.
Swimgainz specialises in helping swimmers address common faults and improve their technique. They can help correct issues such as low-lying legs, which are often caused by weak core muscles, improper head positioning, or breath control. The video analysis provided by Swimgainz allows for corrective measures to be taken in terms of body positioning.
Correct breathing technique is also crucial for maintaining proper body alignment while swimming. Swimgainz provides the perfect opportunity to practise open water sighting or bilateral breathing using their endless pool.
Questions regarding arm positioning, especially during freestyle, are common among swimmers. Swimgainz can assist with identifying and rectifying faults such as early entry, short finish, or dropping the elbow position. The endless pool and video analysis offered by Swimgainz allow swimmers to clearly observe their technique and make instant adjustments based on the guidance provided.
Proper body roll is essential in preventing swimmers' shoulder injuries. Swimgainz's video analysis, coupled with their expert guidance, can help identify excessive body roll that may lead to hand drift and shoulder strain. By pinpointing the necessary changes, Swimgainz aims to prevent such injuries from occurring.
With over 30 years of competitive experience in both pool and open water swimming, Swimgainz is well-equipped to provide coaching, technical analysis, and development opportunities for swimmers of all levels. The coaching staff consists of Ryan and Josh, who have competed at national and international levels in swimming. They have also ventured into open water swimming, with Ryan being a proud member of the 'Big Rick's 4 Way Channel Relay Team' in 2018, the first team from Great Britain and Europe to complete this feat. Both Ryan and Josh are fully qualified Level 2 Swim England Coaches, dedicating their time to coach at Halesowen Swimming Club, and Josh also provides his expertise to the University of Birmingham swimming squad.
Swimgainz offers a range of services, including video analysis and one-on-one coaching, adult learn-to-swim crash courses, triathlete and open water swimmer development, and club day hire. The club operates from 7 am to 9 pm, including weekends, offering flexibility in booking time slots. Swimmers are advised to bring their usual swimming gear, including a swimsuit, goggles, towel, and flip-flops. Additionally, a swimming hat and pre-swim shower are mandatory to help maintain the clarity and quality of the pool.
