Welcome to Takapuna Bowling Club, a vibrant, and progressive lawn bowls club located in the heart of the Takapuna CBD in Auckland. With our accolades of being the Bowls New Zealand Club of the Year, Bowls North Harbour Club of the Year, and Harbour Sport Club of the Year in 2021, we take great pride in engaging with the community and promoting an active and enjoyable sporting experience.

At Takapuna Bowling Club, we have two greens – one natural and one synthetic carpet – allowing for year-round play. We also offer convenient off-street parking for our members and visitors. With approximately 190 members, composed of both men and women, we foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for bowlers of all skill levels. Additionally, we regularly host corporate visitors and casual bowlers throughout the year.

Our motto, “Play Hard. Have Fun! ” perfectly embodies the Takapuna experience. Whether you're seeking serious competitive bowls or a more relaxed and social atmosphere, you'll find both in abundance at our club.

We also welcome casual players and those wanting to enjoy a bowling session with friends. Additionally, we cater to corporate groups, providing fun events and team-building activities. Our thriving business house social league, known as “Krak A Jack,” runs for 12 weeks from November to March on Wednesday evenings.

For corporate and team-building events, we offer our club as a venue for board meetings or seminars. Our upstairs lounge facility can accommodate up to 30 people, and the downstairs club rooms can cater for 100 people. We have excellent bar and kitchen facilities available. Many corporate groups enjoy the opportunity to play bowls during their event, and we provide top branded bowls and coaching.

Catering options are flexible – you can bring your own, or we can suggest some exceptional choices.

Our venue hire pricing is as follows: $300 incl GST for a full day in the upstairs corporate lounge/meeting/seminar room (includes a projector and screen), $200 incl GST for a half day in the upstairs corporate lounge/meeting/seminar room (includes a projector and screen), and $250 incl GST for the downstairs club rooms. Bowling costs $20 incl GST per person and includes all necessary equipment and free coaching. If there are larger numbers attending, a cleaning charge of $60 for upstairs and $90 for downstairs may apply. BBQ hire is available for $30 incl GST, and a non-refundable charge of $63.

25 for a Special Licence will apply when the bar is open for your event.
