The Manchester Fencing Centre is the top bladed sports facility in the North West of England. It aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for children and adults to learn the art of fencing. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned athlete, TMFC offers a range of programmes and training sessions to suit all levels of expertise.
The centre specialises in three disciplines of fencing: foil, sabre, and epee. Each discipline has dedicated training sessions led by highly skilled coaches. The foil programme focuses on developing a strong foil presence in the North West, with sessions available for both GBR fencers and youth fencers. The sabre programme boasts being the largest sabre club in the region, offering beginner sessions and open club sessions.
Coached by award-winning coaches, participants can expect quality training and sparring opportunities. The epee programme is designed to cater to beginners, intermediate, and advanced fencers, as well as pentathlon athletes.
Membership at TMFC is straightforward and affordable. They offer different membership options for youth, students, and adults, with session fees ranging from 8 to 15 per session. Monthly membership options are also available for greater convenience.
The Manchester Fencing Centre operates during the evenings from Monday to Thursday, with dedicated opening hours from 17:00 to 22:00. Private 1-2-1 lessons can also be arranged within these hours. The facility is closed on Fridays but can accommodate appointments on Saturdays and Sundays by prior arrangement.
In addition to regular training sessions, TMFC also offers functional fitness sessions specifically designed for fencers. These sessions are free for TMFC members and take place on Wednesdays at 7:45pm. They aim to improve overall fitness and enhance fencing skills.
For companies looking to organise unique corporate training days, TMFC provides an alternative experience. Participants will receive 60 minutes of intensive training on safety, sword techniques, movement, and accurate hits.
